After I received a B.A. in Communications Studies from UCLA, I began my career as a producer of live shows, records, and tv commercials. During this time, my then-husband and I lived from 1987-1990 in Pine Cove. Leaving the Hill, I switched directions to attend law school, receiving my Juris Doctor in 1994, and thereafter clerked on the 9th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals. I began my law career as a media litigator at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, then became an IP/new media lawyer at Troy & Gould. In 2000, I joined Neopets, Inc. as General Counsel. After Neopets was sold in 2005, I remained with the same management team as we founded the education technology company Age of Learning, Inc, including its flagship product ABCmouse.com. From 2007-2015, I served as EVP of Content and General Counsel, then returned to my production roots, serving as Sr. EVP of Content Production and Design and then as Executive Producer. I am also actively involved in its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. I am a member of SAG-AFTRA and NARAS, as well as a Grammy nominee. In 2008, my husband and I purchased a weekend cabin in Idyllwild, and in 2015 purchased a fulltime home. In 2019, I became the president of the non-profit Idyllwild Community Center, in 2021 I was appointed to a 3-year term as a Commissioner of the Riverside County Children and Families Commission (First 5 Riverside), in 2022 was elected to a 4-year term as a Commissioner for the Idyllwild Fire Protection District, and in 2023 joined Idyllwild Realty as a sales agent.
